The United States has taken another key decision to increase pressure on Iran, which is moving ahead with its nuclear programs. It has announced that it has decided to revoke the exemptions granted to several countries, including India, in 2018 to operate at the Chabahar port there. The US had granted these exemptions at that time under the Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act (IFCA). Accordingly, India was allowed to construct the port and carry out other activities.
