What Happens If You Swallow Bubble Gum?
Doctors have clarified that the notion that swallowed bubble gum remains in the stomach for years is merely a myth. "Even though it is not digested, it travels from the food pipe into the stomach, then into the intestines, and is expelled through stool within 4 to 5 days. It does not stick to any internal organs. It does not cause problems such as stomach pain or vomiting. There is no need to panic if you swallow it accidentally. That said, do not swallow it intentionally," doctors advise.
