When will the Polavaram project displaced persons receive compensation?
Andhra Pradesh: The Water Resources Department has decided to provide compensation to the displaced persons of the Polavaram project's first phase by June. It has estimated that Rs. 2,497.98 crore is needed to provide compensation to a total of 21,709 families. The department aims to complete the first phase of the project by March 2027 and the construction of rehabilitation colonies by December of this year. So far, 28 colonies have been completed, and work on another 49 colonies is yet to be completed.
