Why is the US not attacking Iran?
US President Trump is furious with the Iranian rulers, but he is not launching a military attack. The main reason for this is the absence of US aircraft carriers in the Middle East since October. To carry out any missile or air attack, they would have to use bases in Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Since Iran would retaliate, those countries would not agree to it. If B2 bombers were used, there would be massive civilian casualties.
