₹100 Crore Discrepancy in Affidavits? High Court Issues Notices to Vijay
The Madras High Court has issued notices to TVK chief Vijay. It has directed him to provide an explanation regarding a petition filed alleging irregularities in his election affidavits. Notices have also been issued to the Election Commission (EC) and the Income Tax (IT) Department. "There are contradictory details within Vijay's election declarations. In his affidavit for the Trichy East constituency, he declared his movable assets to be ₹224 crore, whereas in his affidavit for the Perambur constituency, he declared them as ₹105 crore. This constitutes a discrepancy of ₹100 crore," alleged the petitioner, V. Vignesh.
