12,993 Candidates in the Municipal Elections
Telangana: The deadline for withdrawal of nominations in the municipal election process ended yesterday. The State Election Commission (SEC) announced that a total of 12,993 candidates are in the fray. Elections will be held for 2,996 wards and divisions in 123 urban local bodies in the state. This means that on average, four candidates are competing for each ward. The election campaign will conclude on the 9th of this month. Polling will take place on the 11th, and the results will be announced on the 13th.
