306 bones at birth, 206 bones when grown!
Babies are born with about 306 bones, but by the time they reach adulthood, they are reduced to 206. Have you ever wondered what happened to the remaining 100 bones? The bones in the skull are separate for the growth of the brain in babies and to make it easier to come out during childbirth. As the baby grows, these small bones and cartilage parts harden and form a single large bone. The bones of the skull, spine & pelvis fuse together.
