August 17: Naga Panchami...
Naga Panchami is the first festival of the Shravana month. This year, *Shravana Shukla Panchami* falls on August 17. On this day, devotees worship Lord Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy, accompanied by his consorts Valli and Devasena. Devotees are expected to flock to Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy temples across the Telugu states. The *Shravana Shuddha Panchami* *tithi* (lunar day) begins at 4:52 PM on Sunday, August 16, and concludes at 5:00 PM the following day, August 17. Based on the *tithi* prevailing at sunrise, the Naga Panchami festival is to be celebrated on Monday, August 17.
