Brother of Commander Killed in Israeli Airstrike Identified as Michigan Attacker 🚨
The Israeli military has claimed that the brother of the man who attacked a synagogue in Michigan last week was a Hezbollah commander who was killed in an Israeli airstrike earlier this month. According to the Israeli military, Ibrahim Muhammad Ghazali was responsible for weapons operations within Hezbollah's Bader Unit, which has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel. Ibrahim was killed on March 5 in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon, an incident in which three other individuals were also killed alongside the attacker.
**Ayman Muhammad Ghazali Carried Out the Attack**
Notably, 41-year-old Ayman Muhammad Ghazali recently attacked the Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, near Detroit. According to officials, Ayman took this action after receiving news of the deaths of his family members. During the attack, Ayman rammed his car—which contained items such as a rifle, fireworks, and flammable substances like gasoline—into the synagogue building. He fired shots through the windshield and engaged in an altercation with a security guard. After his vehicle caught fire and he became trapped inside, he shot himself. Dozens of children and staff members present at the synagogue during the incident escaped without injury.
**FBI Conducting Investigation**
The FBI is investigating the attack and has characterized it as targeted violence against the Jewish community; however, the agency has stated that there is currently insufficient evidence to classify it as a terrorist attack. The FBI has declined to comment on the claims made by the Israeli military. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Ghazali arrived in the United States in 2011 and obtained U.S. citizenship in 2016.
Ayman Ghazali was of Lebanese origin and resided in Dearborn Heights. He worked at a restaurant. This incident has occurred at a time when the Israeli military has intensified attacks on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon amidst the conflict between Israel and Iran.
