Closing Bell for Degree Colleges!
Hyderabad: This is the Neelagiri Private Degree College in Nalgonda town. Established four decades ago and once renowned as a prominent institution in the area, it shut down last year. It is not alone; while there were eight degree colleges in Nalgonda district a decade ago, only three remain today. In Bhuvanagiri district, only three out of seven colleges are still operational. In the Suryapet district headquarters, the number of private degree colleges has dropped from 15 to four. Across the state, 335 private degree colleges have closed down in the last five years.
