CM's Image on the Ring
Chennai: The one-gram gold ring to be distributed to infants born in government hospitals under the 'Menamama (Maternal Uncle) Gold Ring' scheme will feature the image of CM Vijay and the government emblem. TVK chief Vijay had promised that, if his party came to power, they would distribute rings to infants under this 'Menamama' scheme. The Tamil Nadu government invited tenders for the manufacture of these rings. A prominent jewelry firm secured the contract with a nominal service fee.
