Depression Crosses Coast
Visakhapatnam: The first monsoon depression of the Southwest Monsoon season formed on Sunday morning and crossed the Odisha coast by nightfall. A low-pressure area that had formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal—adjacent to North Odisha and West Bengal—two days ago had intensified into a well-marked low-pressure area by Saturday. Moving west-northwestwards, it intensified into a depression by Sunday morning. Continuing on a west-northwest trajectory, it crossed the coast near Balasore, Odisha, after 8 PM on Sunday.
