In Tamil Nadu—a region synonymous with Dravidian ideologies—the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party has created a sensation. Since the renaming of Madras State to Tamil Nadu, the party has set a record by achieving success without any affiliation to Dravidian ideologies. Notably, for the first time in nearly six decades, a party other than those rooted in Dravidian ideology has assumed power in Tamil Nadu.
