Agriculture Department Director Jilani clarified that obtaining a unique number in the Farmer Registry is mandatory to avail benefits under the PM Kisan scheme. He stated that while 6,471,800 farmers in the state had registered for the PM Kisan scheme, only 5,206,777 have registered in the Farmer Registry so far. He urged the remaining 734,215 farmers to register in the Farmer Registry immediately. He warned that even if a farmer received the first installment of aid under PM Kisan, failure to register in the Farmer Registry could lead to their inclusion in the list of ineligible beneficiaries.
