GST collections of Rs 1.86 lakh crore in August
The Centre collected Rs 1.86 lakh crore GST in August. This is a 6.5% increase compared to August last year. However, it is less than the July collection (Rs 1.96 lakh crore). Among the big states, Maharashtra topped with collections of Rs 28,900 crore. Sikkim is ahead in terms of growth rate (39%). Overall, it is known that the tax collection in April this year was at a record level of Rs 2.37 lakh crore.
