Half-share of water must be provided
Hyderabad: Telangana has made it clear that it demands a 50 percent share of the Krishna river water from the joint reservoirs. They maintained that they should ideally be allocated 70% of the water—with Andhra Pradesh receiving only 30%—but agreed to accept a 50% share due to the rainfall deficit caused by the El Niño effect. They demanded an annual allocation of 112 TMC, rejecting any calculations based merely on short-term (3–4 month) requirements.
