However, she had previously plunged into despair after being sidelined for three months due to an injury last September and facing a string of defeats even after her recovery. Sindhu revealed that Indian cricketer Virat Kohli stood by her during those difficult times. "I consulted Kohli when my career seemed to be going off track. The advice he gave me proved to be immensely helpful," Sindhu said in an interview.
