Hockey Teams to Wear Blue Jerseys
The Indian men's and women's hockey teams participating in the Asian Games will return to wearing blue jerseys. It is well known that the Indian teams had previously competed in saffron-colored jerseys during the recent Hockey World Cup held in the Netherlands and Belgium. That color change had drawn severe criticism and caused internal discord within Hockey India (HI). However, HI President Dilip Tirkey stated that the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had asked them to specify their preference regarding the team kit color, leading HI to choose blue.
