Indices back in profit
Mumbai: The benchmark stock market indices gained moderately on Wednesday due to buying in banking shares. The Sensex rose 332.63 points to 74,336.45, while the Nifty rose 99 points to 23,217.60. In intraday trading, the Sensex rose 502.04 points to 74,505.86. Among the 30 companies in the Sensex, ITC, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, Trent, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Bharat Electronics registered the most gains.
