Is Charging Your Phone to 100% a Good Idea?
Experts warn that leaving a phone plugged in to charge overnight is not advisable. They state that keeping a device at 100% charge for extended periods places excessive voltage stress on the battery. Consequently, this reduces the battery's lifespan—potentially diminishing its overall longevity by 10 to 15 percent. Experts suggest that phones perform optimally when their charge level remains between 20% and 80%. However, they note that charging the device to full capacity is acceptable for use during emergency situations.
