In the men's singles opening round held on Monday, Djokovic lost to Mariano Navone (Argentina) in a grueling five-set match, with the scoreline reading 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-4, 2-6, 1-6. During this marathon match, which lasted 4 hours and 36 minutes, Djokovic struggled significantly with muscle pain. He was also moved to tears after the match concluded. This marks the first time in his career that Novak has been eliminated in the first round of the US Open.
