Leopard Sighting Causes Stir on Tirumala Footpath
Tirumala: The movement of a leopard has once again caused a stir along the Tirumala footpath. Around 2 AM on Sunday, a leopard appeared near Mokalimitta on the Alipiri footpath and sat for a while on the wall of the steps near the *gopuram* (gateway tower). Security personnel spotted the animal and, with the assistance of forest officials, used sirens to drive it back into the forest. It is well known that leopards have frequently been sighted recently in the area between the *Galigopuram* and the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
