Line clear for Taliban minister's visit to India
The UNSC has temporarily lifted the travel ban on Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan. While the ban is in place for Taliban leaders, it has granted exemptions for diplomatic and emergency matters. This has cleared the way for him to visit India between 9-16 this month. This is the first visit by a Taliban leader to India since he took power in Afghanistan in 2021. Discussions are likely to take place on diplomatic relations and trade between the two countries.
