The conflict involving Iran, the U.S., and Israel has been ongoing for over 15 days. Iran has thrown the entire world into turmoil by imposing a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the U.S.—in collaboration with Israel—is raining down bombs from B-52 bombers across a vast stretch extending from Tehran to Isfahan. While Trump's bombs are reducing Iranian military bases to rubble, Iran is retaliating with an equally intense barrage of missile and drone attacks. Amidst this unfolding situation, reports have now emerged revealing the total amount the U.S. has spent on its attacks against Iran thus far. Amidst the ongoing conflict with Iran, Kevin Hassett, Director of the U.S. National Economic Council, shared significant information on Sunday. He disclosed that the United States has spent approximately 12 billion U.S. dollars on the war with Iran to date. Speaking on a CBS News program, National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett stated, "The latest figures that have come before me stand at 12 billion dollars." When asked whether the U.S. would need to request additional funding from Congress, Kevin Hassett, the Director of the National Economic Council, responded: "I believe that, for the time being, we have everything we need. Will we have to go back to Congress for more money? That is a matter that Russell Vought and the OMB will examine." It is worth noting that the OMB stands for the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and Russell Vought serves as its Director.
