Manufacturing of civil aircraft in India
For the first time, full-fledged passenger aircraft are going to be manufactured in India. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in collaboration with Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).. will manufacture SJ-100 aircraft in India. The two companies have signed an agreement to this effect. Hall said on Tuesday that these twin-engine, narrow-body aircraft will further boost short-haul travel under the UDAN scheme.
