No fine even if there is zero balance in these accounts: Nirmala
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reiterated that there is no minimum balance requirement for 72 crore basic savings bank deposit accounts, including PMJDY. She said that there will be no fine even if there is no minimum balance for these, and there will be no charges for deposit, withdrawal and ATM services. She said that this facility has been provided with the aim of making banking services accessible to everyone. She gave a written reply to this effect in the Lok Sabha.
