Nothing is decreasing.. Defense budget is on the rise!
Including military modernization, the center has allocated a total of ₹7.85 lakh crore for defense in the budget this time. This is a testament to the importance the Centre is giving to the defence sector. These allocations have increased significantly in the last ten years. In 2015-16, it was limited to ₹2.94 lakh crore, but the Centre has been gradually increasing it. India, which is trying to achieve self-reliance, has focused more on defence after Operation Sindoor.
