Setback for the Trump Administration
The Donald Trump administration faced a legal setback regarding its new US visa policy. A federal court judge temporarily halted the rule that sought to curtail the duration of visas for foreign students, journalists, and exchange visitors. Although the new rule was scheduled to take effect on Tuesday, a Massachusetts district judge, F. Dennis Saylor, issued a stay on it just a day prior. He stated clearly that the new policy would cause significant damage to the US economy and higher education system.
