Many people fear that building a house in the south direction is inauspicious because Yama is the lord of this direction. However, Vastu expert Krishnadiseshu says that this is just a misconception. ‘It is not true that a plot of land facing south is unsuitable for habitation. If proper precautions are taken during construction, those living in this direction will also be very happy. By ensuring there are no Vastu defects, one can get good results even from the direction of Yama,’ he says.
