Breastfeeding protects against cancer
Scientists from the University of Melbourne in Australia say that breastfeeding not only protects the baby but also the mother. Breastfeeding prevents triple negative breast cancer, which is the most common type of cancer in women. After the birth of a child, immune cells called ‘CD8+T’ are formed in the breasts. Research has shown that these cells act like protective soldiers and kill cancer cells in the breasts from time to time.
