Shravan Effect: Sharp Drop in Non-Veg Demand Across Telugu States
With the commencement of the holy Shravan month, widespread abstention from meat across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has triggered a sharp fall in poultry demand. Skinless chicken, which previously traded near ₹350 per kg, slid down to ₹220–₹240 per kg across major retail hubs this Sunday. Concurrently, retail egg prices retreated from their ₹8 peak to standard wholesale NECC benchmarks around ₹5.25–₹5.50 per unit. Traders continue to clear existing stocks as local buying remains subdued.
