Smoking under 20 years of age increases the risk of stroke
A South Korean study has revealed that there is a link between smoking and age. It has been found that the risk of stroke is 70-80% higher for those who start smoking under the age of 20, and the risk remains the same even if they quit smoking in the meantime. ‘At the age of 20, the body is still in the stage of development. The toxins caused by smoking have a permanent effect on the brain, blood vessels and heart systems,’ scientists say.
