Stock markets ended with heavy losses
Stock markets, which were in turmoil in the backdrop of the budget, ended with heavy losses. Sensex lost 1546 points to 80,722, while Nifty lost 495 points to settle at 24,825. In the Sensex top 30 index, except TCS, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Titan, all other stocks ended with losses. The increase in securities transaction tax related to F&O has affected the markets.
