Stop Animal Sacrifices at the Gangamma Jatara
New Delhi: Former Union Minister and animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi has appealed to Chief Minister Chandrababu to put an end to the animal sacrifices performed during the Tirupati Gangamma Jatara festival. She addressed a letter to Chandrababu to this effect. She stated that it had come to her attention that animal sacrifices were scheduled to take place on a massive scale at the Tirupati Gangamma Temple on May 18 and 19, and she urged that this practice be halted immediately.
