‘Time Bank’ in Kerala to support old age
The Elikulam Panchayat in Kottayam (D) in Kerala has implemented a system called ‘Time Bank’ to support old age. First, the youth should register with the office there. They should accompany and help the local elderly. The time they serve will be credited to that time bank. They can get services through those points when they need them. Officials said that this is being followed with the inspiration of Japan as the elderly are becoming lonely due to migration.
