Unanimous election does not affect freedom of vote: Center, EC
The Center and EC have informed the Supreme Court that freedom of vote is different from the right to vote. They replied to the petition that declaring a unanimous result when there is only one candidate does not mean that the possibility of 'NOTA' is denied. 'The right to vote is legal. Freedom of vote is a constitutional right. Freedom of vote applies only when polling is held,' they said. They said that it is not as if the constitutional right has been affected when there is no polling. The SC has taken up the matter.
