Mangaluru: In Mangaluru city, Dakshina Kannada district, a man was kidnapped in a film-style incident and robbed of gold worth ₹1.5 crore (approximately $1.5 million). Although the incident occurred on September 26th, CCTV footage of the incident has now surfaced. The entire kidnapping occurred on a busy Car Street in the city and was captured on a CCTV camera installed there. What did the police say? According to police information, Mustafa, an employee of a jeweler's shop, was carrying gold bars in the trunk of his scooter, and the robbers were aware of this. Around 8:30 pm on September 26th, two men arrived on a motorcycle, stopped Mustafa's bike, and began arguing with him. Within seconds, a car arrived, and the men forcibly forced Mustafa into the car, while the pillion rider sat on Mustafa's bike. After kidnapping Mustafa, the accused hurriedly fled the scene. Although other vehicles passed by on the road at the time, no one attempted to stop them. Police investigation revealed that after a few kilometers, the kidnappers abandoned Mustafa on a road leading from Mangaluru to Kerala and fled with gold bars worth approximately ₹1.5 crore (approximately $1.5 crore) stored in the trunk of the bike. Police have formed a special team to trace the accused. After this incident came to light, people are perplexed. They wonder how criminals could carry out such a robbery in the middle of the road. This is a well-planned incident. People are wondering, "Isn't the common man safe on the road now? Has the fear of the police and the law diminished among criminals? If such incidents continue, public trust in the police will diminish." In such a situation, the police also need to take such action which can create fear among the criminals again and the public can be assured that the police is always ready to protect them.
