Bareilly violence: Maulana Tauqeer Raza arrested, 8 accused sent to jail
Bareilly: Maulana Tauqeer Raza has been arrested in connection with the Bareilly violence. Police have arrested eight accused, including Tauqeer Raza, and sent them to jail. Bareilly police have registered a total of ten FIRs, seven of which mention Tauqeer Raza's name.

Violence broke out in Bareilly after Friday prayers
Police officials said on Saturday that Tauqeer Raza Khan had called for a protest in support of the "I Love Muhammad" campaign, which led to violent clashes between protesters and police after Friday prayers in Bareilly. According to police sources, Raza issued a video statement Friday night challenging the official version of the clashes and claiming he was prevented from addressing his followers and placed under house arrest.
In the video, Raza can be seen congratulating protesters injured in Friday's clashes. He said, "I commend all the youth who participated in this program. Those who were injured also deserve congratulations."
CM Yogi warns rioters
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, taking a tough stance on the clash between police and locals in Bareilly a day earlier, said on Saturday that the rioters will be taught such a lesson that future generations will forget rioting. The Chief Minister said the government has sent a strong message that any disruption of law and order will not be tolerated.
22 policemen injured in violence
A clash broke out between locals gathered outside a mosque in Bareilly after Friday prayers and the police. Section 163 of the IPC is in force in the district. Police reported that 22 policemen were injured during the incident, and pistols with cartridges, petrol bottles, and sticks were recovered from the scene. Police further stated that the mob had attempted to break barricades and incite violence. Using CCTV footage, manual intelligence, and other investigative techniques, authorities are identifying all those involved in the violence.
