Asmita Enters Quarterfinals
Kuala Lumpur: Indian shuttler Asmita Chaliha has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament. In the women's singles pre-quarterfinal held on Thursday, Asmita secured an easy victory over Goh Jin Wei (Malaysia) with a score of 21-13, 21-16. However, two other Indian shuttlers exited the tournament: Malvika Bansod was defeated in the Round of 16 by Kersfeldt (21-16, 8-21, 15-21), while Devika Sihag lost to top seed Chen Yufei (China) with a score of 16-21, 13-21.
