Bogotá: The South American nation of Colombia was rocked by a severe earthquake. The ground shook violently at 7:34 AM (local time) on Monday. The earthquake, measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale, resulted in 111 deaths and left hundreds injured. Officials stated that the death toll is likely to rise significantly. Many large buildings collapsed, and hundreds of others were damaged; many people remain trapped under the debris.
