Congress Enters Assam Electoral Fray with Five Guarantees
The Congress party has entered the electoral arena in Assam with a manifesto featuring five key guarantees. The party announced that, in addition to providing a monthly cash transfer to women, it would offer financial assistance of ₹50,000 to support business expansion. Furthermore, the party pledged to provide a monthly pension of ₹1,250 to senior citizens, ensure justice in the death case of singer Zubeen Garg within 100 days, provide cashless health insurance coverage worth ₹25 lakhs, and grant permanent land titles to 10 lakh people.
