Congress’s Double Standards on ‘SSR’
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy questioned Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, asking how the Congress party managed to win in Kerala—where the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls had taken place—if the process was indeed a BJP conspiracy. He lashed out, asking if a Congress victory signifies a victory for democracy, while a win for another party implies a blow to democracy. He accused the Congress of adopting a double standard regarding the SSR process. He also demanded that Rahul Gandhi exercise restraint and refrain from using objectionable language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
