Crop Diversification is Essential
Hyderabad: The Farmers' Commission has emphasized that crop diversification is urgently needed in Telangana. It expressed concern over the fact that while the area under paddy cultivation in the state is increasing annually, the cultivation of vegetables and horticultural crops is on the decline. The Commission urged the government to take measures to promote crop diversification within the state to ensure sustainable agriculture, boost farmers' incomes, conserve natural resources, and safeguard future food security.
