A surprising case involving a car registration number has come to light in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. It is alleged that a doctor had been driving around the capital with impunity for a long time, using the registration number of another vehicle on his own car. The matter came to light following a complaint lodged by the driver of the genuine vehicle's owner. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Chandrasekharpur police seized the car in question. The accused doctor has been taken into custody and is being interrogated; the police are investigating the entire matter. **Same Number Plate on Both Cars** According to reports, the registration number OD-02-DL-3332 actually belongs to another person's car, yet the same number was being used on a different car of the same make and color. It is alleged that the car bearing this fake number plate had been plying the capital's roads for a long time. The issue surfaced when the driver of the genuine vehicle's owner encountered the car with the fake plate. After spotting the vehicle with the fake number plate at a petrol pump, the driver filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and impounded the vehicle. **Car Driver Identifies the Vehicle** Nilakantha Sahu, the driver for the genuine car owner, said, "The car with the fake number plate was entering the Chandrasekhar petrol pump from the wrong direction when I noticed that the number plate on it matched the one on my doctor's car. I immediately called the doctor to ask if he was in Bhubaneswar—he usually visits the city on Thursdays for his medical practice. When I asked him, he said he was in Chandbali. I then informed him that another car bearing his vehicle's number plate was moving around the Chandrasekharpur petrol pump in Bhubaneswar. Initially, he couldn't believe it, stating that it was impossible since he was in Chandbali with his car. We then pursued the car with the fake number plate and brought it to the Chandrasekharpur police station. The accused is also a doctor; the police have taken him into custody and are questioning him. The accused doctor runs a clinic in Sailashree Vihar." Police Seize Car The police are currently trying to ascertain why a registration number belonging to another vehicle was affixed to the car, how long the fake number plate had been in use, and the motive behind this. Additionally, the alleged forgery of the number plate and other aspects of the case are being investigated. The police have seized the vehicle, and the doctor is being questioned.
