Japan Bans Indian Mangoes
Japan has once again imposed a ban on the import of mangoes from India. The country stated that this measure was taken citing safety concerns. Our mango exports have been ongoing since the ban was lifted in 2006. However, during an inspection of processing centers in Rehmanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in March of this year, Japanese quarantine experts identified deficiencies in fumigation and pest control measures. Consequently, after two decades, imports of fresh mangoes from our country were halted this year.
