Low-Pressure Area Forms in the Bay of Bengal
Visakhapatnam: Conditions are favorable for the successive formation of low-pressure areas in the Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal on Sunday morning, driven by a cyclonic circulation in the northern Bay of Bengal. It is expected to move northwestwards, passing over north Odisha and West Bengal by Monday. Under its influence, scattered rains occurred in the Coastal and Rayalaseema regions on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in many parts of North Coastal Andhra on Monday, along with rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in several areas of South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
