Markets Turn Profitable
Mumbai: After two consecutive days of losses, domestic stock markets closed with modest gains on Friday. The Sensex ended 231.99 points higher at 75,415.35, while the Nifty closed with a gain of 64.60 points at 23,719.30. The indices advanced into positive territory driven by favorable global cues and increased buying support for banking stocks as well as select blue-chip shares. However, looking at the week as a whole, both the Sensex and Nifty managed only marginal gains of 177.36 points and 75.8 points, respectively.
