Nepal Road Accident: A major road accident occurred in Nepal's Lumbini province. A minibus was involved in the accident on Monday. The accident occurred when the bus lost control and fell down a slope. Two people were killed and more than 20 others were injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to hospital for treatment. Accident Caused by Brake Failure The Kathmandu Post newspaper quoted police as saying that the accident occurred when the vehicle's brakes failed at a turn in Lumbini province's Arghakhanchi district. According to the newspaper, the minibus was traveling from Butwal to Purkotdaha at the time of the accident. A 10-year-old and a 13-year-old child were also killed in the accident, while 20 others were injured. There were 26 passengers on board the bus. The My Republica news portal reported that 24 people were injured in the accident, and quoted the district police office chief, Day GC, as saying that four of the injured are in critical condition. According to Inspector Jhalak Prasad Sharma, information officer at the District Police Office, the minibus was carrying 26 passengers, despite only having 16 seats. Sharma said the accident was reportedly caused by brake failure and overloading. Jeep falls into ravine It's worth noting that in July of this year, a tragic road accident occurred in Nepal when a jeep suddenly collided with rocks and fell into a 100-meter-deep ravine. This accident occurred in Nepal's Far Western Province. Two people were killed and six others were injured.
