The first attack occurred on September 25th at around 5:20 a.m., when two suspects attempted to set the theater's door on fire by pouring gasoline on it. The attackers were armed with red gas cans and ignited the fire from outside. Minor damage was caused to the building, but the fire did not spread inside. According to police, both suspects were wearing dark clothing and masks. CCTV footage showed a gray SUV and a white SUV arriving and fleeing from the attackers. Second attack on October 2nd The second attack occurred on October 2nd. At approximately 1:50 a.m., a suspect opened fire at the theater's entrance. Police reported that the attacker was heavyset, wearing dark clothing and a mask. Both attacks are believed to be targeted and may be linked to the screening of Indian films. The theater's CEO, Jeff Knoll, stated, "Someone attempted to burn down the theater simply because we were showing South Asian films, but we want our community to feel safe and we will continue to provide a moviegoing experience for patrons." Police investigating the incident Following the attack and arson at the cinema, the theater has suspended screenings of two Indian films as a precaution. The theater says, "We don't want to give in, but the safety of our staff and patrons is our top priority." Halton police are investigating the incident.
