Pakistan's U-turn on the boycott of the match with India has left global broadcasters, including the ICC, with a revenue of about ₹ 1,500 crore. If the match had been canceled, the ICC would have had to pay a huge compensation to its media partner, JioHotstar. Also, about ₹ 25-40 lakh per 10-second ad would have lost about ₹ 200-300 crore in ad revenue. More losses in the form of sponsorships, digital traffic, and hotel bookings are inevitable.
